Dancing

I love the show 'so you think you can dance'. I have never been a devoted watcher of the show, but this season, I am glued to the tv on Wednesday and Thursday nights. I love dance. I love dancing and I love to watch pieces be performed. Mark and Chelsie are amazing. They're my favorite couple. Here is my favorite piece from this past week. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. It really makes me want to dance again. Oh, and sorry that you'll have to pause the music on our page once again to hear the music.

Guitar Hair-O

We got Guitar Hero III!! This is cause for a celebration everyone! I fell in love with the game when we went out to Utah for Christmas because Jake has a Wii and bought the game actually the night before we left to come home. We stayed up late that night playing the game and almost missed our flight the next day. Then, Jennifer and Kyle got Rockband and Guitar Hero. It's fun playing it in their movie theater. I've been obsessed with the game, but we didn't have a gaming system. Fortunately for us, we were able to buy an Xbox 360 from Matt's boss and get a great deal on it. We had the gaming system, so we got the game. We've been rockin' ever since. I posted pictures of Will playing with one of the guitars because he's been so curious as to what the fuss is about, I'm sure.

Side note: The bottom picture of William is him "smiling". I told him to smile and he made this face every time I said to do so.



In other news, I have found a hairstyle that has "LILY" written all over it. A little side ponytail. Yes, it sounds a little weird, or 80's, but it works for Lily. I took her picture this morning with her new "do" because I wanted to show proof that I actually have been trying to find new things to do with this mane of hers. It's so hard when her hair is board straight! I can't just do the Pebbles look. It's a little more like a Chinese look. Have you ever seen the Nutcracker? The dance with the Chinese people, it think it' the Tea Dance, flashes through my mind when I do her hair like that. Anyway, I also posted a video of her this morning because it was adorable. Lily's chatting away about something. You also get to hear her new word that she's saying now, courtesy of William. And, the best part, she sends you all her love by a big kiss at the end. By the way, in these pictures, she's holding bows.

Old Fort Park

William, Lily, and I met our sweet Stephanie at the Old Fort Park in Murfreesboro on Thursday morning. We thought that we would go a little earlier so that it wasn't so hot. Wasn't so hot? Don't worry, I learned my lesson. The temperature was in the 90's with like a billion percent of humidity. We did have fun though. William and Lily enjoyed the swings. Will ran around a lot, probably exploring new territory. Lily was just content staying with me. She's not walking yet, so I didn't want her crawling around on the ground. Then we ate our sack lunches together at the park. We were planning to go on a walk, but the sun forbade it by glaring at us the entire time. So, we just decided to go home and stay in the air conditioning.

Curling Up

Lately, I have had such a hard time trying to think of things to do with Lily's hair. She doesn't like to have things in her hair. I'll put an accessory in her hair and then tell her that it's "So Pretty" and then she smiles, moves one shoulder up, and touches her hair. She proceeds to pull out the headband or bow or whatever. I can't keep something in her hair to save my life and so she always looks like she just rolled out of the bed. (Or rather I got her out of bed. I don't just let my child roll out of her bed, she'd get hurt. She's in a crib anyway... so she would only roll into the crib bars.) Solution: I decided that I was going to try to put curlers in Lily's hair after a bath. When her hair dried, I took them out and scroll down to see the results.
I don't think that the sides looked too bad, but having her hair flipped up like this in the back makes her look like she has a mullet. I'm still left with no answers. It was fun to curl her hair! Even if she looks like a redneck white trash child, she's still looks darn cute looking that way.

Last of the Birthdays

Here is Matt posing for the camera with the most awesome birthday gift. Matt's birthday was Sunday! June 1st. We didn't have a big party for him because he's not too fond of parties, but we did have a Birthday Cake ice cream cake roll. Does that make since? It was an ice cream cake roll with Birthday Cake ice cream. Anyway, that was courtesy of Krystin. We also had "Not Yo Momma's Banana Pudding" that my mom made and also a Key Lime Pie that we bought on Saturday night from the grocery store. It was a day of desserts and Matt loved it! He only received a few gifts from me. I got him the ipod dock that he wanted. Not the one that was on sale, might I add. That is what he's showing off in the pic. I got him a couple of shirts also. Of course, Matt talked me into giving him his presents about 3 days before his birthday. (Which isn't hard.) We are both horrible at giving in and giving presents before they're supposed to be given. Matt was great with my birthday presents though. Soon, we will be fulfilling our tradition and we will go to a minor league baseball game. We were thinking about going major league and going to see the Braves in Atlanta, but we really are trying to save money and gas prices are a kicker right now. So, the Sounds it is! I will post pictures of that when we go. For now, I'm am going to relax a little because we don't have anymore birthdays for our family! No more planning and stressing and buying. Until next year...

Adventures in Babysitting

These past few days, I was able to watch my cousin Tegan. The first day started off a little slow. Tegan can appear to be quiet and shy when you first meet her. Oh, but do not be fooled, my friend. I think that I have talked to her more in the past three days then I have William his whole life. -converstation wise. She's hilarious! I tried to come up with some fun things that she could do. I really tried to find things that she would like to keep her busy because I wasn't able to sit and play with her all day. I got her a coloring book and a make your own locket kit (or something like that). Today, however, I decided to take her to McDonald's for lunch. I left Lily with my mom and took Tegan and William. (I don't have room in my car for 3 car seats.)We just went through the drive-thru and took the food home to eat. I got Will's food out and put it on a tray for him. I pulled out Tegan's food for her. She didn't like that she had the same number of chicken nuggets as Will did.
"It's just unfair because I'm bigger," she said.

"Well, you wanted a Kid's Meal and the Kid's Meal only has 4 nuggets in it," I countered.

"I didn't know that."

There was a strange noise. (Silence.)

"Hmm.." she began. "I think that next time, I want a Momma's Meal."

I wonder, how many chicken nuggets come in that?

The Night Before

We had a lot of things going on the day and night before we left. We had errands to run, people came over, and we had to pack! Here are some random pictures of the last day we were in Utah. Here is Lily eating strawberry shortcake! It was her first experience and she pretty much loved it.
William and Tessa were so funny together! For some reason, Will just grabbed a hold of Tessa and was staring at her. They stood there for a while, just like this picture. I took a picture of it because I wanted to remember it! We were all laughing hysterically.

Here I am with my favorite little girls that live in Utah. The Page's came over to say bye and I couldn't resist getting my picture taken with these two crazies!

Here is William and Ammon eating Popsicles on the patio. They were swimming in the blow up pool. By swimming, I mean just standing around it and then when we put them in, they would scream and cry. They liked the Popsicles though!
Matt grilling. I can hear you all gasp! I'm just teasing. Matt did a great job with the hamburgers. 311. Of course Matt did this on the patio, it's his favorite band. He doodles this almost everywhere he can.

After all of this, I was able to stay up and pack while Matt went to 7 11 and got me a coca cola slurpee. I love them and we don't have 7 11's in Tennessee. We were up late that night. Fortunately, we were all able to get a nap on the long flight home. So, there you have it. Our awesome trip to Utah. I hope you enjoyed having a new post everyday. I'll write again soon.
