The Tennis Shoe Kind of Kicks

All I wanted to do was get some cool pictures of Lily's cool new converse tennis shoes. These were the coolest that I could manage. I did, however, manage to make an innocent gesture into this...

Don't ask me why, but recently, anytime I have the camera out, the kids fight to get into the lens. They are crazy. And I hate to admit it... these pictures kind of make me laugh.

5 Years

5 years ago today

Today is our 5 year wedding anniversary! Big 5. Not like the store though. I can't believe how time flies and how it seems like we've been together forever too. I know 5 years isn't a LONG time, but it's a milestone for sure. I'm looking forward to even more in our future. Matthew's a great husband. He's my best friend. I'm glad that we chose each other.

P.S. I guess this means we are FOR SURE no longer classified as newlyweds.

Jesus and the Man on the Moon

It all started when we were walking to our car outside of Carrie's house tonight.

"Mom, does Jesus live on the moon?" William asked.

I couldn't help but chuckle to myself a little bit. I mean, come on... it puts the man on the moon in a whole new perspective. And I responded, "No, baby, he doesn't live on the moon. He lives in Heaven with Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother."

The whole way home, William proceeded to ask me question after question about Jesus. I was able to talk and share with my children about the pre-existence, spirits and bodies, and resurrection. I feel like I was able to share my testimony with them about Christ and how He still lives. And that some time we will be resurrected just like Him. I know they don't understand the fullness of everything I told them, but I think on some level they do.

My answers to William's questions only brought on MORE questions. He wanted to know why he has "NEVER seen Jesus. Why can't we see Jesus? Why won't Heavenly Father let Him come?" Which brought on a whole new explanation of things.

My favorite, besides Jesus being the Man on the Moon, was "I have Never seen Jesus. I think He's lost. We need to find Him."

Gosh! I have had a hard and exhausting day. This conversation was the perfect ending to this day. Maybe William knew I needed it. I'm pretty sure Heavenly Father did.

Diaper Cake: Boy Version

This past Friday, the Townsend family had a baby shower for Angela who just had her second boy the day after (two weeks early). Denise and I went halfsies on diapers and I made a diaper cake for Angela. I was so excited to make one for a boy! Logan was born about 6 hours after our shower ended.
That's 4 Townsend side babies in 5 months!!

Brother and Sister

Sometimes I just really like to get my camera out and take candid pictures of my kids. It's the best. And it's awesome that they don't mind. I think that I've taken so many pictures of them that they really don't care anymore. I couldn't resist getting a shot of William sneaking some ketchup off of Lily's plate. Typical sibling stuff.

After dinner trains.

And a tickle-fest with me and Lily.

Of course the night ended with both brother and sister fighting about who could get closest to the camera. So, I got a shot of an eye of both!

Letters

I finished making these a few weeks ago and have been waiting for Matthew to put them on the wall (because he's so particular about where and how you do that sort of thing) to post them! So we put them up on the wall between their closet and their bathroom door. William and Lily picked out the paper to put on their letter. I talked Lily into hers, William was strong set on his choice. I like the L more myself, but they were both super fun to make and I've been wanting to have the kids initials in their room somehow. Maybe when they have their own room I can do full names, but I like these for now!
