In the Name of Love!

I had the opportunity to go see these guys last night:

And it was pretty darn awesome. They sure know how to put on a great show! The special effects were incredible and they played a lot of the more familiar songs. And... they probably sound better live than they do on their cds. It was great!

I have since then decided that I don't use the phrase "In the name of love" often enough.

Lily's Eyes

I was trying to get my children to take a nap yesterday afternoon. I don't usually do this because they don't usually sleep at night if they have a nap. But, yesterday morning was a LONG morning and my children were practically begging to lay down. William zonked right out. It's always Lily who has more of a problem napping.

After a little while of her being in there, I had a talk with her. I told her that she wasn't being punishes, she wasn't in trouble, but I knew that she needed to close her eyes and give her body a rest.

Lily: I can't go to sleep. I can't close my eyes, they're broken.

Best line ever for not taking a nap.

In other news concerning Lily's eyes, last week, she went on a playdate with William to a friends house. Henry is in our preschool and the kids absolutely love to play with him. Henry's mom told me that Henry and Lily were playing together and Henry kept looking up at Lily over and over again until he just said, "Lily, you have the most beautiful blue eyes."

Isn't that adorable?? Little did he know that those eyes would soon be broken because Lily didn't want to take a nap.

Like My Mama and Papa Say

Big Daddy said it to my Mom and my parents say it to me. There is nothing sweeter or better to hear.

William's Party

Yet another reason I need a new camera. These are the only pictures I have of William's 5th birthday. I don't have any pictures of him opening presents or of his cake. Granted, at the party I didn't have time to take pictures, but on his actual birthday I did. They didn't load.

But, William had a Thomas Birthday party. We played pin the number on Thomas, Hot Thomas (like hot potato), and we had a bean bag toss. The winners of the games got those cool Thomas bracelets. William got a lot of Thomas toys and goodies, which he loved! His "friend" party was a little crazy. We had 15 kids in our little apartment. Only one of William's friends wasn't able to come to his party. We all had fun though.

It's really weird for me to think about William turning 5. I remember being 5 and it's weird to think that I now have a child that is that age. I did good this year at not crying on birthdays, but I'm wondering if it's a mix of the stress of throwing a fun party for 5 year olds and it not really sinking in that William's another year older.

He's starting school on August 29th. That doesn't feel real either. But, he is ready and that is all that really matters!

Easter

On William's Birthday (after we had a little celebration) Carrie and Nathan and their girlies came over. We dyed Easter eggs and had an Easter egg hunt. It was a lot of fun. I obviously didn't get any pictures of the eggs we colored, but the hunt was a lot of fun. We just had it in the side yard by out apartments.
And they found all the eggs!!

The Easter bunny came to our house bringing trains for William and a long awaited pink caboodle for Lily. She is such a girly-girl. And yes, Lily is wearing her Rapunzel dress.

Easter Pictures

I know that Easter is over, but I Had to take our annual Temple/Easter pictures. Especially since I love their Easter clothes so much this year! I decided to take pictures at the Draper Temple this year. We took pictures at the Jordan River Temple and the Oquirrh Mountain Temple, so I thought that it was only right. I LOVED taking pictures in Draper. It's such a beautiful temple with a lot of fun places to take pictures. So... Here are the pictures that I took of my kiddies. I tried to curl Lily's hair, but because of the drive down there and the fact that it was pretty windy, her hair looks crazy at times!

Here are some pics of the temple and the grounds.

And my most favorite (Not posed. They totally did it on their own) picture.

What's the Deal?

Why hello there!

I've realized that I haven't written an update on things around here for a while and I thought that maybe it's time to.

Things are good.

Lily is wonderful. She had so much fun at her birthday party and is already planning ahead for next year. Hello, Kitty. Yeah, I know... But, she's as beautiful and fun loving as ever.

William had a GREAT birthday and is super excited for his party on Saturday. He has invited some cousins and some friends. It's weird that my kids are already at the age of "Friend" birthday parties. He's chosen the Thomas theme, of course. We went to William's Kindergarten orientation this month and met both of the teachers there. It's only a matter of time before he starts going to school!

They both had a good Easter and looked sharp in their Easter clothes. I'm a little behind on taking their pictures in their Easter clothes at the temple this year, but let's face it, it's been a little too cold to do it! I mean, it flurried yesterday. Can you believe that? Anyway, their preschool is coming to a close after this next month and graduation is going to be on June 1st.

Matthew is finishing up school for this semester and is looking forward to continuing in the summer. He will qualify to graduate with his General Education at the end of the summer!! However, I believe he is still planning to put off the actual getting the degree because there are classes he can take at the Community College that will apply to his Bachelor's and it will be cheaper. We'll see what he chooses to do though. But, I did want to post this picture because Matthew had to do a speech in his Communications class and he was speaking about running marathons. We made a poster and we found this picture to put on it..

It is so obviously an African American athlete. But... it also looks exactly like my husband.

I am in the process of a lot of things right now. I love to craft, A LOT. I keep myself busy trying to find new things to make. I am working with my doctor to try to regulate my thyroid. I went in to a doctor's appointment a couple of months ago for a cold and came out finding that I not only had sinusitis, I also had hypothyroidism. Which has explained a lot of things. So, we're getting it under control. I have to get my blood drawn once a month until my levels are where they are supposed to be. But, things will be good and little by little things are getting better. I am also in the process of registering for school! Yep, you read that correctly. I will be starting school a Salt Lake Community College. I'm going to be majoring in Visual Arts with an emphasis on Photography. I'm a big ball of nervousness and excitement. I haven't gone to school in 7 years ('bout time, huh?) and I have to take a placement test to see what classes I belong in. Then I register for classes and I begin in the fall. I'll only take a couple of online classes this year and then when Lily starts school next year, I'll be able to go to the campus to take classes.

So, that is the haps with the Townsend clan.
